Ramsay, who lost 1.78 million pounds (or about $2.87 million) on his Paris restaurant alone, blames start-up costs and assures, “The 2009 accounts for Gordon Ramsay International and Gordon Ramsay Holdings together, will reflect a robust year of trading and an emphatic return to profitability.” Meanwhile, he’s got another trick up his sleeve: According to the Star, Gordo is planning a television show that will highlight London and New York’s Malaysian cuisine, which he says “will become a force to be reckoned with.” Ramsay just shot a show on Indian food, a cuisine that Salon says will not become a trend anytime soon. Archos 9 reviewed: too big, too slow, too ‘Starter’

Posted by Zac Worldwing Comments (0)

Gadget news about Archos 9 reviewed: too big, too slow, too ‘Starter’ – We hate to be the bringers of bad news, but it looks like the Archos 9 might be serving as a bit of a morality tale, showing why and how PC hardware and software might not be quite ready for the large form factor tablet experience. That’s not to say there aren’t some plusses to the device pointed out by UMPC Portal in its review, like the great build quality and style of the tablet, the sensitive, flush touchscreen, and some great connectivity, but the sum seems less than its parts.

iriver Story unsheathed, still looks remarkably like a Kindle

Gadget news about iriver Story unsheathed, still looks remarkably like a Kindle – If you’re pro- ebook readers but anti- Amazon censorship , here’s a decent alternative for your cashola. The Story reader from iriver has been undressed for our entertainment and rightfully praised for its trendy eco-friendly packaging. It’s not an altogether unique device, but with an 800 x 600 E Ink display, support for ePUB, PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and even Ogg / WMA file formats, it’s at least versatile enough

Creative working on Zii-based MediaBook with color touchscreen, e-book slant

Posted by Dani Manning Comments (0)

Gadget news about Creative working on Zii-based MediaBook with color touchscreen, e-book slant – What’s an e-book without the e-ink? So very much, according to Creative , who just dropped word of an upcoming “MediaBook” device (which will undoubtedly look nothing like this mockup above). It sounds a bit more like a PMP to us, with “video, pictures, text and services,” and a “media-rich experience” on the table, but Creative is also apparently working with publishers for content, with an obvious emphasis in Singapore sources, where Creative already does e-learning work

New Sony Ericsson Rachael UI video hits, still looks nothing like Android

Posted by Jack Sedelling Comments (0)

Gadget news about New Sony Ericsson Rachael UI video hits, still looks nothing like Android – Calling this Rachael UI an Android “skin” is like calling Windows 95 a “DOS skin,” but that’s not to say there’s nothing to love about it. In fact, we’re rather relieved that Sony Ericsson seems to be addressing Android’s incredibly lackluster media playback interface, the SE “mediascape” version of which dominates this particular video — a sequel to the first Rachael UI tease we got back in July .
